We all have a story. The story of Wenzel Nursery is pretty short and sweet. The desire to get out of the office and back to the world of plants and dirt precipitated looking through a number of Sunday classified ads. A “garden center for sale” ad and a phone call later started it all. In February of 2005, Pete purchased the business. In need of a more permanent spot – he secured it’s current location that December. Originally we thought “Grumpy Pete’s” was more apropros (as Pete is so “good-natured) but trying to be more dignified we settled on Wenzel Nursery. We’re thankful for everything – our crew, our customers, our vendors, our location and a wonderful town to call home. It’s been quite a journey so far – and we look forward to many years in the garden center business.
